Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, fiends, and dark forces increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the group access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
